In the depths of the 2008 housing market crash, as the world pivoted into a recession, a spark of creativity ignited in one man's kitchen. Laid off, broke, losing his house, his will and searching for purpose, he found comfort in the most unexpected place: a bag of pretzels. It began as a challenge from a friend: “Why not make your own spices and play with them?”

Intrigued, he tried his hand at homemade spice blends. He started by using spices from the garden, grilling peppers, dehydrating them, and experimenting with different combinations. What emerged was a unique marinade that transformed pretzels into a culinary delight.  For years, Crosseye perfected his recipe, creating various flavor options. Their unanimous praise was clear: these pretzels were something special!

Despite the encouragement, he never considered turning his hobby into a business. It was not until the pretzels became a coveted holiday gift, a luxury item eagerly awaited by family and friends each Christmas, that he saw their potential. Inspired by the enthusiasm of a niche food reviewer on Facebook, he decided to take a leap of faith. He sent a sample of his pretzels to the Pickled Guy, and the response was overwhelming. The review went viral, and suddenly, Crosseye’s Ghost Pretzels were in high demand.

Today, Crosseye’s Ghost Pretzels are no longer a seasonal treat but an everyday luxury. Each batch is carefully curated, capturing the essence of those early experimental days.
